I was tasked with transforming a landing page for a non-profit's website that had issues with readability, visual hierarchy, and visual flow. This caused the website confuse users increasing bounce rates.

I created user personas, analyzed competitors, and developed wireframes to transform the chaotic layout into something that truly connected with young adults. The goal was to guide users through a digestible and smooth learning process.

Next by analyzing successful competitors to identify what worked in engaging young volunteers. They used strategies to get information efficiently with a clear visual hierarchy. Through this research I uncovered and applied these patterns.

This project highlighted the importance of thorough research and competitive analysis in developing effective design solutions. The foundational idea phase proved essential; it's where the real magic happens before any pixels are placed. I realized I could have been more strategic about selecting page hotspots and integrating them into the overall design, which would have created even stronger user engagement points.
The experience also taught me that visual design is just one piece of the larger User Experience puzzle. While the time zone difference with my client created some communication delays, it showed me the importance of planning for these logistics in future projects. Despite these challenges, I genuinely enjoyed the collaborative process; the client's clear vision and specific needs made for a smooth partnership that resulted in exceptional feedback and a design that truly served the community.
